EMDR

EMDR (eye-movement desensitisation, and reprocessing) has become the preferred therapy to treat PTSD. But it has been shown to be just as effective in treating trauma and other psychological issues, including negative childhood and adult experiences, panic disorders, some forms of depression, anxiety, sexual assault and body dysmorphia.
This therapy helps people process traumatic events by reducing the distress associated with them. It allows individuals' own inherent ability to reprocess experiences to a more nurturing, self affirming reality.

It generally produces results faster than other forms of psychotherapy because it targets the root cause of the issue and allows people to process the trauma more quickly. It is non-invasive, unlike other forms of therapy as it does not involve discussing traumatic events in detail. This can be especially helpful for those who find it difficult to open up about their experience or where discussing the event can be re-traumatising to do so.
