Eating Disorders
Challenges with food are a problem when they start interfering with your ability to enjoy life.
Whether you have bulimia, anorexia, a restrictive, bingeing or purging problem, we can work together to help you develop a more favourable relationship with food.
How we do this not only depends on your current relationship with food, but involves how you are in all areas of your life. Such as: how you handle stress, how are the relationships in your life, do you feel you have sufficient ways to enjoy life and calm yourself when you want to.
Helping develop better relationships with food often includes building coping and relaxation strategies, self-esteem, addressing body image issues, growing rewarding connections in your life and often re-training the body to recognise hunger again as opposed to a stress feeling.
An individualised food program that takes into account when you like to eat, what you like to eat and what your body needs is usually part of the picture at some point, alongside healthy ways to be with or manage the feelings that accompany eating for you.
